  • September 22' | EVERY LITTLE MOMENT

Welcome, September. September, a true kiss goodbye to Summer and a warm hello to Fall. The last of the warm golden days welcoming an orange Autumn, September is beautiful. Always such a fun month with the mix of both seasons, a little best of both worlds wrapped into one month! The weather starts to cool down but is still warm enough to enjoy one last swim, a few late night bon fires and morning coffee on the porch. It is a really busy month for us so I am truly trying to enjoy and soak in every little moment. Callan is growing so fast and I cant believe how quickly time goes. I remember dreaming about these days of being a mom and having a full schedule and now I am living it and so grateful. On the radar this month: - Mums! I always get mine the first of the month and travel up to my moms to get them, they are huge and always so affordable. - Wine Down Weekend is always Labor Day Weekend. We basically winery hop all weekend to "wind down summer" You can read about my favorite local wineries here. - Apple picking at Lynds - Seek No Further Cidery 21st First Day of Fall - Pumpkin Patch - Vacation to Michigan - Sunrise photography session with my favorite photographer, Cait. Projects on the horizon: - Garage Bar (we dont have much time to focus and get this space in better shape before the wedding we host at the end of October) - Finish up the kitchen! A few things I dont want to forget.. - The weather has been oh so perfect, crisp mornings and evenings have led us to a lot of bon fires and late night rummy games under the pergola lights. Ive still been walking every morning - its been so good for me to break a little sweat and clear my mind to set my intentions for the day. Callan loves the water so every chance we get we head to the park and play in the creek. He is becoming so independent already and im mourning those days he really needed me. Our new countertops have been installed and woof, I'm in love. They are Taj Mahal Quartzite in a leathered finish with a 1/4" bevel edge. We went ahead and ordered a new faucet too, of course I chose more of a timeless look in nothing other than unlacquered brass. Feeling so very grateful for this season of life, all that we are able to accomplish. Ive been immersed in work and couldn't feel any more thankful for all of my past and current clients for trusting me with a job for such a sacred space, home. Enjoy this season and every little moment.

  • Gallery Wall

There is something to be said about a collection of art. It tells a story, makes you think and gives a sense of nostalgia, that comfortable lived in feeling. In my opinion Lauren Liess is the queen of curating perfect gallery walls. She seems to effortlessly mix together all the right pieces - whether it be a large scale or a group of just four. It draws you in and allows you to think about each images history and gives you the freedom to create a story. Acquiring real art takes time and money! There is something to be said about collecting art that truly speaks to you or has some sort of meaning to it, but I have a few secrets to help give you that same look for a little less. All images above are from Lauren Liess Prints have become the easy and affordable part, the frames are what hike the price up and make all the difference. So as far as prints go.. Here are some of my favorite places to shop. Vintage Supply Museum Quality Art North Prints Artfully Walls Society6 Minted I always try to look for similar colors and styles when I plan a gallery - that helps create cohesion and true intention. I will take a screenshot of the image and put it into Canva to see how they all play together. This helps me create the style and the story I want to tell. You can also screenshot on your phone and add to an album to see if all your prints marry well. For this specific space I wanted neutrals with a mix of moody and mysterious. Once I gather the art I know I want I need to first make sure I have frames for them! For this project I knew I needed to find more frames with a little more character than the average ikea or hobby lobby frame. Now there is nothing wrong with purchasing your frames from ikea, target or hobby lobby - its an easy place and relatively affordable but I was on the hunt for about 15 new frames and that would add up quickly and become an expensive project. So off to the antique mall! I found all of my frames for $5 or less / frame at the antique mall. They are all mostly wooden and 5x7 or 8x10 in size. After I purchased my frames I was able to decide on the exact prints I wanted and purchase the Digital Download. I then uploaded those to Walgreens Photo (you can use other printing places like Costco - Walgreens happens to be the closest and quickest for me!) I then chose the size to order according to the frames I had! After my prints were ready I laid them out with their frame to see which frames I wanted to keep wooden, paint or rub'n buff gold! I knew I wanted a mix of frames to give it a very organically collected feeling. You can keep all your frames the same color and style for more of a modern look - but dont be afraid to mix it up! I painted a few frames the same white color as our walls, I left a few wooden and cleaned them up and I even painted a few green! For the rest I decided to turn gold and I do this by first spray painting them black and following up with rub'n buff! The rub'n buff I like to use is in the finish gold leaf. This really gives it a nice antique finish and elevates the frame making it seem more expensive than the $5 bucks I paid for it! Here is one of my new corner crushes You can see the mix of frames and art all still meshing together well. I even added a small mirror I had to give some light and reflection! And the little gallery shelf in our kitchen. This is such a great and inexpensive way to add character to your house. Artwork is always subjective and the easiest way to really make your house feel like home. Add in a few other pieces like a mirror or a 3D object to break it up. Also, check in with these sites frequently because they update their art and often with the seasons. This allows for me to switch out the art periodically and create a special space! Hope this gets your creative wheels turning and remember you dont have to spend a fortune on creating little moments in your home! Stop at the thrift store, antique mall or garage sales and reimagine some of those dusty tired pieces!

  • Design ✨

I have been so busy with design and I am beyond grateful for the work that has come my way in the last year and a half. I realized I haven't shared much of my designs or process and I thought I would compile some of my favorites into a post for a glimpse into my design world. Most clients are looking for a direction, to help bring their vision to life, to source furniture, decor and fixtures within their budget. Floor plans and layouts are also important, to shed light on a new way of arranging to really maximize the space and flow well for their lifestyle. I absolutely love to get to know my clients, how they live and how they want to feel at home. Take a peak at the mood boards I have created for my client projects. The Vintage Revival I love mixing the old with the new, layering textures, patterns and lighting. Using raw material so it patinas over time to tell a story. New Build Love Modern, yet soft. Masculine, yet feminine. The balance of warmth in a new construction home. New Home Retreat A home with character that needs a personal stamp. As you can see with those 3 designs I have a distinct flavor. Timeless materials, muted colors, layered patterns and mixed hardware finishes. The Sunshine Room A four seasons room flooded with light with a coastal vibe. Here is an example of a mood board, concept and overall visual. Poolside Paradise A little twist on the average outdoor space with warm coastal tones to allow for the blue hue of the pool and green landscaping to be the backdrop Fresh Beginning A peak into a few spaces that were in need of a refresh. Boho Charmer Same overall style with different options. I love to give options to allow my clients to really feel like they are in control, give them ideas at different price points and how just a few small changes can make big impacts. Farmhouse Fixer Cozy, warm and inviting - bringing an entire mood to a home already boasting with character. Just a little glimpse into some of my projects. Floor plans, sources and a deeper dive into the design is included with site visits and measurements in most of these packages. I am conscious of cost and mindful of staying in budget and the lack of practicality of furnishing an entire new space. These mood boards and concepts help guide my clients at their own pace. I love working with different styles and pushing my boundaries. I am not afraid of bold, I love a good neutral but most importantly I love delivering custom projects to my wonderful clients based on their needs, lifestyle and budget! Which mood board / room is your favorite? As always, thanks for being here and cheering on my small corner of the Internet.

  • August 22' | SOMEWHERE SLOWER

    - find joy in all that you do - Its AUGUST! The Sunday of summer This month tends to be long slow sun drenched days, never a very full calendar, and that last taste of summer. It feels like the Sunday of summer, the last hoorah. A month to slow down, soak it up and enjoy the last moments of this season. On the radar this month: 4th National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day (you know I love to celebrate these corny days) 20th Pataskala Street Fair | our big pool party cook out! - I want to make homemade cinnamon rolls here is the recipe I thought about trying - Christmas in August at Granville Brewing - Paint new art - Plan for our fall trip at the end of September - Dine alfresco as much as we can - Friday night farmers markets - Check out the Depot Pub downtown Projects on the horizon: - Our kitchen countertop and backsplash! - Laundry top & cabinet - Back porch steps - Garage bar - Finishing the hall closets * Like every month, I am not sure where the time goes! We are behind on our projects so some of these are rolling over to this month * A few things I dont want to forget.. - Update from last month- Thank you for the outpouring love from our mudroom renovation reveal. We are so extremely grateful for this space and cant believe we get to call it home. I made that strawberry cake and lets just say, im not a great baker! The icing was divine but the cake itself was just not for me, too dense. However, on weekly rotation I have been baking these bagels. They are so easy and delicious! I love making a double batch of these at the beginning of the week to use for breakfast sandwiches. I have had my eyes on this wallpaper for so long now and Anthro recently had a sale so I finally ordered a roll to add to our hall coat closet. I absolutely love the cheekiness of this paper. It adds an unexpected flair to the closet. I love to touch every inch of our home and make each space beautiful and intentional. The black in the heel and feather color picks up our foyer tile and the vintage charm just fits the personality of our home. This paper was incredibly easy to work with - its a paste the wall application making it so easy to hang. Olive Grove - Sherwin Williams I have also started the upstairs hall closet project - I cannot wait to finish and share. I wanted to elevate this closet with a wallpaper and fun paint. Like I said above, I love to really make each space in our home special and beautiful. We have really been soaking in these hot summer days and creating sweet moments with Callan. This is a great Rosé - I have a Winc membership and thought I would give this a try even though I am a true red wine lover. And to prepare for #NationalChocolateChipCookieDay here is my recipe! Have a wonderful end to summer, soak in the days and sun rays!

  • Mudroom Reno

Our mudroom renovation has been the biggest reno in our home that we have done yet! We literally demoed this space to the studs and started from scratch. Since our home is over 100 years old we ran into plenty of obstacles but saved thousands at the end of the day. It's always a challenge when designing an old home because we want to continue the story of the house, and respect the character and charm that has already been created over the years. We were very intentional about creating an area that is functional for our family's lifestyle today, but also continuing with finishing details that could be seen as an original part of the house. Our mudroom is right off the kitchen and leads to the backyard. It has our laundry and a full bathroom. Before we started the demo the full bathroom was a decent size with a shower but the layout was a little wonky with a corner sink and a door that opened into the bathroom. The mudroom had a lot of built in cabinets which was great for storage, but if you know us, I would rather not have storage because that means I'm typically storing things I never use. So lets rewind. It was November of 2019. Brandon and I are notorious for starting projects on a whim even if we have a few others unfinished. We are both creatives who love to get our hands dirty. We are dreamers and doers and enjoy doing these projects together! Im not really sure what prompted us to demo this space just days before Thanksgiving... but we did. We completely tore it apart and threw all of the materials outside because we did not have a dumpster (on a whim, remember?) That pile of debris sat in our yard til spring ... LOL. Once it was demoed we really didn't do anything else to the space for quite sometime. We were really excited about the possibilities but once we really took a step back and evaluated it, we realized we were in for a much larger project. We had so many other things happening at the time, our entire 1st floor was subfloor because we had tore out the tile to add hardwood flooring. So we had to prioritize a bit. In hindsight we shouldn't have demoed as soon as we did but in typical Brandon and Kasey fashion, we did. We made plans, tinkered in the space a bit but it wasn't until half way through my pregnancy that we decided to get serious about finishing this space. We called some contractors, plumbers and electricians, now this was coming off of the pandemic.. almost none of them could do the job in time. We were hoping to have a functional space before I had Callan, that did not happen. Fast forward to today just a short 3 years later... (that's 15 in Kasey years) we finally have a functional well used space! A space that can be used by guests, where our babies will take baths, and where more loads of laundry will be done than we can count. For us designing is always about the story and the memories that will be made. This one doesn't disappoint, hopefully you can scroll through and enjoy the process as much as we did! Before- looking into the mudroom from the kitchen. This was before our new back door was installed, and we had to remove the flooring to install the new one. That's when we realized there were 4 layers of flooring! After our new door was installed and the beginning of a true mess. This was right before we started to demo.. as you can see our rough sketch of where the new bathroom door would go. Here is a better visual of what the bathroom was like prior. The door used to swing open into the bathroom which made for a very tight space, hence the corner sink. You can also see how low the bathroom ceiling was. When you demo on a whim the debris has to go somewhere. This sat out here until spring. Spring 2021. The entire floor was removed, dug out and cleaned and a few joists got a sister. The plumbing and HVAC was taken care of and a new subfloor went in. We lived like this for a while. Plumbing was roughed in, plans were made and we started to purchase more materials. I found the utility sink and youngster tub on Facebook Marketplace both for $85 each! they were in great shape other than needing some fresh paint. Although I love me a good pink moment it just wasn't working for me on these claw feet! I decided to paint them a dark charcoal color and do a light rub and buff application on them to give them more of an antiqued patina look! I painted the sink and tub in Annie Sloan French Linen followed up with a clear wax. Bathroom is all framed out and the ceiling is beginning to get stained. Drywall is in and ready for paint! This was the only thing we hired out in this entire renovation. For the sake of time we had a great crew come in to hang the drywall and mud all in one day! We added bead board to the bottom half of the new walls to make it feel apart of the space, like it has always been there and tie in with the rest of the bead board. I added a wallpaper above for some fun visual interest. The beginning of new floors! We went with brick to add great texture and warmth all while trying to continue to make the space feel as if it has always been here. Its a great option for high traffic areas and the herringbone pattern is so fun! So after 3 years, a lot of hard work, some sweat, and love here is the finished product. Finally found a place for this old antique mirror - we still need to build out a countertop over the washer and dryer and add a shelf! I loved the bead board ceiling this room once had but I love the exposed joists even more. It gave us a taller ceiling height, the ability to redo the electric, and bring some rustic character to the space. The plan is to add a countertop to the washer and dryer and add a custom cabinet where that saddle makers bench is currently. That will provide us with some much needed storage and you won't be able to see the washer and dryer when entering this room. Here is our adorable youngster tub - 48" It is small but it does the job for bathing Callan and allowing me to soak a few times a month. Before, during & after! A few new family members, a lot of great memories and a new space to enjoy. From the ground up here are the sources! Brick Flooring Floor grout - Pewter Floor sealer Wall paint color - Evergreen Fog by Sherwin Williams Wallpaper Utility Sink - Facebook Marketplace / vintage Utility sink faucet Bath tub - Facebook Marketplace / vintage youngster tub Bath tub faucet Bathroom Marble tile Chair rail Marble grout - Iron Similar Marble Sink Sink stand Sink faucet Hooks in bathroom Bathroom Pendant Mirror - vintage Push Buttons Push button cover plates - unlacquered brass finish Picture Light Bench is vintage Hooks by door Ship Art All mirrors are vintage Art above the tub is Kasey Galik original Our door is Pella and our hardware is from House of Antique Hardware. Still to finish - The electric to add two over head lights and run a light to the back porch with a new light switch next to the back porch. A countertop over the washer and dryer with a custom cabinet next to it. Window shades and decor. Send me a message if you have any questions or if I missed something! Hope this post keeps you inspired and motivated to do your own projects! xx. kasey & brandon

  • July 22' - & just like that

you can still find peace and grow in the wild of changing things Hellllooooo July! And just like that... we are officially half way though 2022. On the radar this month: 4th The Fourth of July! 15th Where the Crawdads Sing movie comes out - Many cookouts & pool parties! - A visit to Autumn Rush Winery - Check out the new High Banks Distillery in Gahanna - Slowing down & savoring this summer - Making a strawberry & cream cake Projects on the horizon: - Kitchen walls bricked - Custom kitchen banquette - Countertop shopping! - Upstairs hall closet makeover! - Brandon has high hopes to start in on our garage makeover and it is going to be so good! I will *try* to document the entire process. A few things worth noting: In my June post I mentioned the awesome Fathers Day gift... Brandon loved it! I purchased him a new bocce ball set and my dad and I made him this bocce ball stand for the yard. And of course because I am so sentimental I engraved the wood! Our mudroom/bathroom Reno is complete. Here is a little peak, my new corner crush. To have a utility sink is so dreamy, a space to wash my paint brushes, water plants, the opportunities are endless. I will try to compile an entire post with before and afters and sources. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Consider this your half year check in! I love to check in with myself frequently, I think it is so good to see where you are and how much you have grown in the past 6 months. You know how at the beginning of every new year we set new goals and intentions and about a month in it all goes out the window. Well now is your chance to really check in - how can you adjust if you fell off the wagon or how can you celebrate your victories? Time to set new goals, intentions and set yourself up for success for the last half of the year! Because before you know it... it is going to be another new year! A little mood board to set the tone. A lot of neutrals, calming vibes, entertaining, project inspo and how I want the last half of 2022 to feel. If you've been around here for a while you know I love to write letters to myself. Futureme.org now has an app! This makes it easy to write letters to your future self - include your goals, what you are working on right now and where you hope to see yourself. The app now makes it easy to add photos! A little time capsule sent into the future for a pleasant surprise that you can set at whatever time you hope to receive it! I love to send myself new year letters, half way through the year letters and then a letter on my birthday! Speaking of new Apps. If you are like me and love to have your photos printed then you should download TimeShel. You can choose 10 or 30 prints to be shipped to your house each month! There is just something so nostalgic about a tangible photo. They are the perfect little size that I can toss a few on the coffee table, stick a magnet on the fridge and add to C's baby book. It takes the work out of remembering to order photos - just add your favorites and they automatically ship the happiness to your door! A few tips - Find a new scent whether it be a perfume or candle you light and let that fill your days. Work on cleaning out your wardrobe and focus on intentional pieces - articles that can be layered, mixed and matched. As I've grown older I really know the styles I love to wear, what I feel comfortable in and what I go to grab most often. This makes getting ready easier. Make your bed. I promise, the two minutes it takes is so worth it by the end of the day. Split a bottle of wine with your favorite person.. at least once this month! Find one new recipe to make. I am going to try the strawberry & cream cake I mentioned above. I will let you know how it is! Create a new playlist and dance in your kitchen. Put your phone down, watch the sunsets, take a deep breath and really enjoy the moment. Have a happy July my friends xx. Kasey

  • June 22' - layered and loved

always find time for the things that make you feel happy to be alive I welcome June with open arms! The start to a new season, summer. Long sun drenched days, dining al fresco, ice cream runs, bare feet and white wine. It is definitely a month where I try to start to slow down. Coming off of a very busy month, May, it is hard to relax and shake that go go go feeling. But, I hate being so busy and with such a full schedule. I find the joy in living much slower, with cooking, sleepy mornings with that extra cup of coffee, hot summer pool days with mid day movie naps. There really is something to be said about slowing down and savoring the good stuff. On the radar this month: 19th Fathers Day - I have the coolest gift to give Brandon this year 20th My best friends 30th! 24th Joann Fabrics is having a Halloween photoshoot at our house! - Farmers Markets on Fridays - Make sun tea! - Pick Strawberries & make strawberry ice cream Projects on the horizon: - Upstairs hall closet makeover. I am trying to hunt down the right dresser to retrofit and build in custom and I have my eyes on of course, wallpaper! - Finishing the mudroom, WE ARE SO CLOSE. I am so excited to take a bath. - I ordered some brick from Home Depot to add to two of our kitchen walls.. This idea just randomly came to me (the best kind) and now I am obsessing over adding a layered texture to the space. Stay tuned! A few things I dont want to forget.. Brandon and I have been spending each morning walking 30 minutes, about a mile and a half, around our neighborhood. It has given us some much needed time together and to break a good sweat first thing in the morning! Callan is walking! It has been so dang hot, like record heat. Although its miserable during the day, we have taken to ending each evening with a night swim which has been just the best. A few moments frozen in time from the past couple weeks.. Our David Austin Roses are blooming! Callan's smash cupcake for turning 1! Mudroom progress! So in love with how all of these details truly are coming together. A little backyard impromptu photoshoot for our big little one year old! Peony season in full bloom. Little snippets from Callan's Hole in ONE first birthday party What great memories we have made, I am forever grateful for this life and all that each season brings. Here is to another month full of celebrations and love! xx, kasey

  • May | life lately

How in the world is it already May? I always remember my parents talking about how fast time goes and I never truly believed them until this year. Maybe it's becoming a parent, maybe it just comes with age but wow, time sure does fly. I couldn't be more excited to be here though -- a full month ahead with many celebrations. 2nd - Brandons Birthday 5th - Cinco de Mayo 7th - The Kentucky Derby 8th - Mothers Day (my first!) 26th - Callan's First Birthday 28th - A Hole in One Par-Tee! Mixed into all of that fun we are endlessly trying to get our mudroom / bathroom renovation finished, clean out our garage, power wash and mulch and prepare for Callans Birthday. We have family coming into town, plenty of fun and excited projects on the horizon and the weather is so perfect. I am trying to balance it all and soak in all these precious moments through the chaos. Spring is certainly here - we did not get a late frost like we typically do so everything stayed in full bloom! We recently planted David Austin Roses and cannot wait to see how they grow this season. I planted all my sunflower and zinnia seeds so here's to hoping they grow! Our Mudroom / Bathroom Reno is coming along. We are on the brick tile floor now and it is really starting to take shape. I can actually see a light at the end of this long 3 year project! Once the floor is in it is really down hill from here. Bathroom tile, hook up the toilet, sink and tub and finish all of the small trim work details and paint! We opened our pool and I surprised Brandon with a floating golf green for his birthday! Probably should have waiting for the mudroom to get finished because now he really doesn't want to work LOL. I found this on the Grommet.. where you can literally find everything cool! One of my most recent designs for a clients 4 seasons room. This entire design has made me want to take a beach vacation! What a cheerful space to relax in and make some of the best memories in. This is just a glimpse into what you get when you do an e-design with me. I have been planning Callan's first birthday and it is going to be a golf theme. A Hole in One Par-Tee. I have had a lot of fun planning this and going a bit above and beyond but things like this really fill my cup. I will have to do a whole blog post on his party once it happens. Really hoping for beautiful weather! We have been catching up on Ozarks, watched Pam & Tommy (its pretty sad actually) and watched the Girl From Plainville.. also very sad. I just realized that maybe we should insert some happy shows into our life. Currently listening to my latest playlist Rosé is chilling because spring just calls for it The smell of fresh cut lilacs fill the room and I am browsing VRBO listings for a Michigan getaway in the fall Although life is busy, a lot of deadlines are missed, my hair is dirty and we haven't had a date night in forever... I wouldn't trade these days. These are the days I used to pray for and I am so very grateful for this season we are in. xx. kasey

  • 10.21 elevating the everyday

Autumn. A reminder to let things fall where they may Hi October. Welcome to my favorite month and season of the whole year. Fall is officially in full swing, the weather is cooling off, the leaves are changing colors and our fireplace is ready to be in use! This month holds a lot of good memories in my heart, Brandon and I will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary. I always love the season change October brings, shifting my mindset to allowing things to just be. Typically I look forward to slowing down with fall after a busy long summer but this summer set the tone a bit differently, it was definitely a slower paced summer allowing for me to ease into Fall a little nicer this year. I always have a lot of my agenda this time of year with all the activities going on and now new traditions with Callan but sort of like the last couple months I am really allowing myself to just be, to let things fall where they may. Things to celebrate this month: 14 Our Anniversary 31 Halloween Just for fun: 4 National cinnamon roll day *I dont need an excuse to go but here is one now to go get a roll from Rolls by the Pound* 6 National noodle day 16 Sweetest Day 17 National Pasta Day 26 National Pumpkin Day Local: Granville Barn Hop *truly a favorite of mine to snag some great vintage pieces and get inspired* Trick Or Treat My October agenda is looking a lot like this... - check in with myself.. with 3 months left of 2021 I want to make sure I am on track with hitting goals and setting new realistic ones - making and enjoying mulled wine - going on a fall hike - doing all the fall / halloween activities *list some* - making chili - vintage shopping - carve pumpkins Inspo for the month With the leaves changing color, falling and crunching beneath my feet this season and month brings change. xx. k

  • a new season | FALL

autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let go The time has come to welcome a new season, fall. From September 22 through December 21 we celebrate fall. This season is cozy flannels next to the fire, mulled wine and comfort food. Pumpkins and giving thanks. Crunchy leaves and crisp air. Fall is a beginning of recognizing the beauty in change. So here is your little inspo guide to Fall and how to really embrace this season for what it is and all that it offers! I encourage you to make your own Fall "to do" list full of fun fall activities! Here is just a small glimpse into some of the things we hope to do in the next 90 days! I also made this printable for you to fill out and cross off! Celebrate each day, choose to live in joy and be intentional with your time, space and energy! currently listening to 1. sunglasses 2. shoes 3. perfume 4. hat 5. pants 6. denim jacket 7. sweater 8. flannel shacket 9. candle 10. purse 11. blush 12. wine Ok I am loving these super fun and affordable retro sunglasses for fall! I feel like they are perfect because Fall isn't necessarily super sunny but the overcast sky can still be bright and you need a bit of shade. Smell is the #1 trigger to memory and like I talked about in my post here, I switch up my perfume with the seasons. Fall welcomes Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black, this perfume is the one Brandon bought me for our wedding so naturally it reminds me of this season and the sweet memories it holds. A classic beanie for fall to cover those "need to wash my hair" days and keep my head and ears toasty on crisp morning walks! This denim jacket is so cute and really affordable, I love the vintage look it gives. I am dying to try this newest candle scent from anthro plus I love the vessel it comes in. Not only do I switch up my perfume with the seasons but I like to switch up some of my makeup too. Making my blush a bit warmer and less summer pink helps match the warmth of autumn colors. Annnnd naturally my go to red wine. This is such an easy drinker and a price point of like $14. I love using this wine for a warm mulled wine on those chilly evenings. I purchase the mulled wine spice bags from Rockside Winery and toss it all in the crockpot. Two of my favorite cozy dishes to make on those rainy cold fall nights to enjoy next to the fire. I came across this cocktail recipe and I am dying to try it! Anything that adds a splash of champagne is always a win for me. A few of my favorite things about fall are... - the smell of the fallen turned leaves - pumpkin patches - sweaters and layers - wine by the fireplace - house windows open to a fresh breeze - chilly evening walks - comfort foods - fall scented candles - a dark lip Fall, you are my absolute favorite. Cheers to a new season, 90 cozy days of burnt orange leaves, pumpkins and football! I hope you also have a great season full of fun and new memories! xx. k

  • Orzo Tomato Basil Soup

With the nights dropping in temps I am gravitating toward warm comfort dishes like this soup! Warm up with this easy, no immersion blender necessary, tomato soup! Finished in about 50 minutes you'll enjoy a creamy tomato soup with bits of orzo to fill you up! Guarantee to make the whole house smell delicious, this is one of my favorite go to recipes on those chilly fall evenings. Notes: I use white onion, feel free to use yellow. I chop mine very very finely because I am not a huge fan of large chunks of onion in my soup. I use dried basil out of convenience, feel free to use fresh basil, chopped. I use already minced garlic but if you use fresh its about 3 cloves. Homemade chicken broth is the best, if not able I grab the bone broth because it serves more flavor! Cook the orzo to al dente, they will continue to cook and swell up in the soup! 1/2 cup is plenty, you can add more if you really want a heavy orzo base. What better than grilled cheese on the side of your tomato soup? In the last 8 minutes go ahead and start making your grilled cheese. Our go to is smoked gouda and the laughing cow spreadable cheese... makes for a very creamy sandwich! Skip the grilled cheese and shred some cheese on top to make it extra creamy! This recipes yields about 4-6 servings. Double it for a crowd or if its just two of you, cut the recipe in half! This soup doesn't keep well since the orzo tends to soak up the soup. Hope this recipe is simple and warms your belly! Enjoy! xx. kasey
