August 22' | SOMEWHERE SLOWER

- find joy in all that you do -

Its AUGUST!

The Sunday of summer

This month tends to be long slow sun drenched days, never a very full calendar, and that last taste of summer. It feels like the Sunday of summer, the last hoorah. A month to slow down, soak it up and enjoy the last moments of this season.

On the radar this month:

4th National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day (you know I love to celebrate these corny days)

20th Pataskala Street Fair | our big pool party cook out!

- I want to make homemade cinnamon rolls here is the recipe I thought about trying

- Christmas in August at Granville Brewing

- Paint new art

- Plan for our fall trip at the end of September

- Dine alfresco as much as we can

- Friday night farmers markets

- Check out the Depot Pub downtown

Projects on the horizon:

- Our kitchen countertop and backsplash!

- Laundry top & cabinet

- Back porch steps

- Garage bar

- Finishing the hall closets

* Like every month, I am not sure where the time goes! We are behind on our projects so some of these are rolling over to this month *

A few things I dont want to forget..

Update from last month-

Thank you for the outpouring love from our mudroom renovation reveal. We are so extremely grateful for this space and cant believe we get to call it home.

I made that strawberry cake and lets just say, im not a great baker! The icing was divine but the cake itself was just not for me, too dense.

However, on weekly rotation I have been baking these bagels. They are so easy and delicious! I love making a double batch of these at the beginning of the week to use for breakfast sandwiches.

I have had my eyes on this wallpaper for so long now and Anthro recently had a sale so I finally ordered a roll to add to our hall coat closet.

I absolutely love the cheekiness of this paper. It adds an unexpected flair to the closet. I love to touch every inch of our home and make each space beautiful and intentional. The black in the heel and feather color picks up our foyer tile and the vintage charm just fits the personality of our home. This paper was incredibly easy to work with - its a paste the wall application making it so easy to hang.

I have also started the upstairs hall closet project - I cannot wait to finish and share. I wanted to elevate this closet with a wallpaper and fun paint. Like I said above, I love to really make each space in our home special and beautiful.

We have really been soaking in these hot summer days and creating sweet moments with Callan.

This is a great Rosé - I have a Winc membership and thought I would give this a try even though I am a true red wine lover.

And to prepare for #NationalChocolateChipCookieDay here is my recipe!

Have a wonderful end to summer, soak in the days and sun rays!
